:: Cybermarker Web Designs ::
:: A Historical Perspective ::.
Cybermarker Web Designs was established in 1997 to meet the growing need
by small businesses for web design, development and promotional services
in northwestern Pennsylvania.
Having spent over ten years in measurement engineering with companies
like Westinghouse, Grumman, Duquesne Light and Boeing, Cybermarker Web
Developer David Andrews (then with Penn State) was asked to develop the
campus web site, and was eventually given the position of Campus Webmaster.
With a background in programming and technical writing and the explosion
in growth of computer networks and the Internet, Webmaster seemed like
a dream job. Penn State however, desired little more technically
than an online version of their print materials. Ultimately it was
this ... that pushed David to expand his skills elsewhere with the design
and development of small business web sites.
Web Design and development is a rapidly evolving craft requiring technical
ability, creative instincts and time ... time to keep abreast of continually
evolving standards and techniques ... time to overcome the learning curve
with a dozen software programs ... time to develop proposals and time
to give clients the confidence that Cybermarker is worth "their"
time. David eventually left Penn State and decided to devote full
time to the development of Cybermarker as a business. Thus Cybermarker's
sites have evolved too ... from the early sites designed in spare time
after work to intuitive, functional, aesthetic and easily maintainable
sites, well planned and developed with the knowledge, experience, and
practicing of skills over time.
